Responsibilities

  • Change lives through education by motivating students to achieve academic excellence.
  • Provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & writing) and enVision Math.
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Select, modify, and utilize instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school success.
  • Assess changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  • Evaluate each student's learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
  • Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings as needed.
  • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  • Participate in events outside of normal hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain.
  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A current teaching certificate from within the state.

Physical And Travel Requirements / Work Environment

  • Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
  • This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration.
  • Local and in-state travel required.
