Elementary Teacher
Summary/Objective
Uplift Michigan Online School seeks an educator to provide an excellent education to all students, adhering to the mission, vision, and goals of the Academy and Summit Management Consulting's core values. Your primary goal is to ensure students learn subject matter aligned with State standards and Landmark Academy curriculum.
Essential Functions
- Plan and deliver varied, interesting, engaging, and enjoyable lessons for students.
- Create lesson plans in harmony with students' learning styles.
- Assign homework in alignment with Uplift’s homework philosophy and PLC team guidelines.
- Offer assignments and assessments in accordance with four-period learning, providing frequent and timely feedback.
- Review and analyze student performance data to develop plans to meet the needs of all students.
- Maintain timely, complete, and accurate student records (e.g., Skyward).
- Develop curriculum aligned with State standards and refer to approved guidelines as needed.
- Develop and implement educational plans such as IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior plans.
- Maintain a classroom conducive to learning, ensuring it is safe and nurturing for all students.
- Communicate with parents via various means, providing regular updates on their child's performance and progress.
- Teach and model elements of Landmark Academy's approved character education program (7 Habits).
- Ensure students have healthy self-respect and respect for others.
- Use teachable moments to reinforce desirable character traits.
- Ensure students follow Uplift's rules and policies, using a balance of Positive Behavior Interventions and Support along with disciplinary procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed by School Administration.
Evaluation
All employees are evaluated based on their primary responsibilities and adherence to general expectations outlined in job descriptions. Employees are expected to contribute to maintaining a spirit of team unity and cooperation. Frequent observations and feedback are provided throughout the school year, culminating in a year-end evaluation.

Work Environment
This job operates in a classroom environment. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and projectors are routinely used. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
