Louisiana Key Academy is a mission-driven, tuition-free public charter school specializing in evidence-based instruction for students with dyslexia. Position Overview

We are seeking a high-performing, student-centered educator who will play a vital role in delivering rigorous, evidence-based instruction and supporting student success within a specialized learning environment. Schedule

Monday–Friday (schedule aligns to local school district calendar)

Education

Bachelor’s degree required

Experience

Minimum 1 year of teaching preferred, but not required for strong candidates

Certification

Teaching certification preferred OR eligibility to obtain certification within 12 months

• Maintain a structured, consistent classroom environment
• Willingness to participate in ongoing dyslexia training (CALT/CALP pathway)
• Strong instructional planning and execution skills
• Ability to use feedback to improve performance quickly
• Commitment to student outcomes and accountability

Student Support & Compliance Responsibilities

• Implement instructional accommodations (not write IEPs) and supports aligned to IEPs, 504 Plans, and intervention plans
• Collaborate with SPED staff, interventionists, and leadership to support student needs
• Maintain accurate documentation as required for student services and compliance
• Participate in meetings related to student progress and support plans, as needed
