About the role
The LifeWorks School in Media, PA is actively hiring for an Elementary Teacher for the 2026-2027 Academic School Year. LifeWorks is a licensed specialty therapeutic day school for students in middle and high school affected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. The school offers an individualized educational curriculum that engages students throughout the day to achieve positive behavioral and educational outcomes. LifeWorks provides a unique blend of academic rigor and evidence-based educational and therapeutic supports.
Responsibilities
- Provides academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting.
- Maintains student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods.
- Observes and records student progress daily.
- Develops and monitors student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), reports, goals, objectives, attends IEP meetings, and establishes, maintains, and works toward student goals as outlined in the IEP.
- Manages student behavior through individualized motivational systems, S.M.A.R.T. Program, and positive behavior support plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s level degree in Education or Special Education required.
- PA certification in Special Education is preferred.
- Content area certifications preferred.
- Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting preferred.
