Responsibilities
- Motivate students to achieve academic excellence
- Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
- Select and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
- Guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth
- Assess changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement
- Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community
- Evaluate each student's learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments
- Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives
- Participate in training and staff meetings
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings as needed
- Evaluate student growth and achievement continuously and appropriately for age group, subject area, and/or program classification
- Participate in events outside of normal hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid teacher certification
- The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check
Preferred Qualifications
- A current teaching certificate from within the state
Physical And Travel Requirements / Work Environment
- Travel between campuses is required from time to time
- This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion
- This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration
- Local and in-state travel required
