Responsibilities

• Motivate students to achieve academic excellence
• Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
• Select and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
• Guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth
• Assess changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement
• Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
• Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community
• Evaluate each student's learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments
• Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives
• Participate in training and staff meetings
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings as needed
• Evaluate student growth and achievement continuously and appropriately for age group, subject area, and/or program classification
• Participate in events outside of normal hours
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid teacher certification
• The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check

Preferred Qualifications

• A current teaching certificate from within the state

Physical And Travel Requirements / Work Environment

• Travel between campuses is required from time to time
• This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion
• This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration
• Local and in-state travel required
