About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 3rd Grade Elementary Teacher to join our team. The Elementary Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment for students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Cognitive Demands
- Supervision of multiple students at once.
- Establishing routines and procedures.
- Maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
- Create and implement instructional plans.
- Participate in continuous professional development.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Stand and walk frequently.
- Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat.
- Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year.
- Withstand a moderate noise level.
- Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary.
- Assist/lift students, as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan with an endorsement in the grade level.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
