Elementary Teacher

About the role

Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) is seeking a part-time Teacher for a First- or Fourth-Grade classroom in Phoenix, AZ. RCA is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Childcare/nursery is provided on-site.

Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith. All staff complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a classical and Catholic classroom environment.
• Follow provided curriculum and grading guidelines.
• Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards.
• Attend mandatory training on August 3, 4, and 10, 2026 (8am–5pm; no childcare provided, nursing babies welcome).

Requirements

• No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required.
• Must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to your state in life.
• Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
• Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Experience with children (e.g., homeschooling, babysitting, ministry, teaching Religious Education, or caring for your own children) is a plus but not required.
• Love for babies and toddlers is required.
• Must pass a background check.

Schedule

• Mondays and Thursdays, 8:30am–3:15pm.
• No additional vacation days beyond RCA’s published Vacation and Holy Days (accommodations made for sick days as needed).
