Elementary Teacher
About the role
We are seeking a Catholic part-time Elementary teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic 2nd or 3rd Grade classroom for 13 hours per week at our Austin, TX Center.
This is an hourly position with childcare/nursery provided. Tutors must prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured environment. No additional vacation days are given, but accommodations are made for sick days as needed.
Applicants must be available to attend mandatory training on August 4, 5, and 6, 2026 (8am-5pm; no childcare provided, nursing babies always welcome).
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and classroom management according to Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) standards
- Prepare for classes at home and teach in a Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays
- Follow provided curriculum and grading guidelines
Requirements
- Deep love for the Catholic faith and ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
- Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to your state in life
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness
- Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship
- Complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching
Qualifications
- No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required
- Experience homeschooling, working with homeschool children, parish ministry, teaching Religious Education/Catechism classes, or teaching in a classical/private school is a plus
- Standard computer skills (Google Suite or equivalent preferred)
Schedule
Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00am - 3:30pm.
