Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in accordance with the district's curriculum and educational standards.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and engage students in the learning process.
- Modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
- Coordinate with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum.
- Participate in faculty meetings and committees.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and cooperation among students.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to create a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Assessment and Feedback
- Regularly assess student progress using a variety of assessment tools.
- Provide constructive feedback to both students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student performance data and tailor instructional approaches accordingly.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Parent Communication
- Foster open and effective communication with parents through regular updates, parent-teacher conferences, and other communication channels.
- Collaborate with parents to support students' academic and social development.
Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, teaching methodologies, and curriculum advancements.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and professional meetings such as faculty and department/grade level meetings.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to share best practices and enhance the overall learning experience for students.
