Elementary Teacher

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in accordance with the district's curriculum and educational standards.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and engage students in the learning process.
• Modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.
• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Coordinate with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum.
• Participate in faculty meetings and committees.

Classroom Management

• Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and cooperation among students.
• Implement effective behavior management strategies to create a conducive learning atmosphere.
• Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.

Assessment and Feedback

• Regularly assess student progress using a variety of assessment tools.
• Provide constructive feedback to both students and parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student performance data and tailor instructional approaches accordingly.
• Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.

Parent Communication

• Foster open and effective communication with parents through regular updates, parent-teacher conferences, and other communication channels.
• Collaborate with parents to support students' academic and social development.

Professional Development

• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, teaching methodologies, and curriculum advancements.
• Attend workshops, seminars, and professional meetings such as faculty and department/grade level meetings.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to share best practices and enhance the overall learning experience for students.
