Elementary Teacher ANTICIPATED 3RD Grade

Qualifications Required Valid NYS teaching certificate in Pre-K-6 certification areas Qualifications Desired Experience, knowledge, and background related to N.Y.S. learning standards and multiple assessments including formative and benchmark assessments in unit designs.Desire and knowledge to balance students' social/emotional and academic/intellectual needs.Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills withparents, staff, and students.Desire and ability to work collaboratively with an academic team including an interdisciplinary approach to lesson design.Knowledge of strategies in the areas of literacy and writing.Knowledge and evidence of unit planning and lesson design using Understanding by Design, differentiated instruction, curriculum mapping and multiple assessment.Uses varied instructional methods and assessments to support:Engaged learningHigher order thinking skillsMeaningful, authentic use of knowledgeIntegration of 21st century skillsMultiple IntelligencesEvidence of strong classroom management with an emphasis on student engagement and student success in the classroom.Commitment to curriculum development, professional development, flexible teamwork, and instructional technology.Ability to integrate technology into the classroom.Willingness to be a coach or activity advisor.
