Elementary Substitute Teacher - Cherokee Christian Schools

About the role

Cherokee Christian School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for our Primary School, tentatively needed October through December. This position will provide consistent classroom instruction and leadership during an extended teacher absence. Unlike a traditional substitute role, the long-term substitute will take responsibility for the day-to-day instruction and preparation necessary to maintain continuity for our students.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and supporting 1st and 2nd grade students
• Providing instruction in reading and math
• Preparing for daily lessons and classroom activities
• Following established curriculum, lesson plans, and academic expectations
• Grading and providing feedback on student work as needed
• Managing the classroom and maintaining established routines
• Communicating and working closely with Primary School administration and staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous elementary classroom teaching experience
• Experience teaching reading and math at the 1st or 2nd grade level
• Teaching degree or certification preferred, but not required
• Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
• Commitment to supporting the mission and Christian environment of Cherokee Christian School
