Elementary School Teacher

About the role

We are seeking part-time elementary school teachers to teach 2nd Grade in a classical and Catholic classroom at our Mechanicsburg, PA location for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The position follows a Socratic classroom model on Mondays and Thursdays, with curriculum and grading guidelines provided.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2nd Grade students in a classical and Catholic setting.
• Prepare for classes at home and follow implemented lesson plans.
• Deliver instruction and manage the classroom according to Regina Caeli Academy standards.
• Maintain a highly structured learning environment.
• Participate in required background check and Safe Child training.

Requirements

• Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Deep love for the Catholic faith and living it day‑to‑day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one’s state in life.
• Undergraduate degree (or equivalent).
• Willingness to undergo a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.
• Availability to work Mondays and Thursdays, 8:45 am – 3:30 pm, and to prepare lessons at home.

Qualifications

• No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required; training will be provided.
• Experience homeschooling, working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching one’s own children, or teaching in a classical or private school is a plus but not mandatory.
