About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team through the Michigan Alternative Certification program. This role is ideal for professionals transitioning into education who are passionate about making a difference in K-12 classrooms.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Commitment to completing the Michigan Alternative Certification program.
- Strong desire to teach and work with K-12 students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in the area you wish to teach (e.g., math, science, English, social studies, etc.).
- Fingerprint clearance and background check required.
