About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team through the Michigan Alternative Certification program. This role is ideal for professionals transitioning into education who are passionate about making a difference in K-12 classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
• Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Commitment to completing the Michigan Alternative Certification program.
• Strong desire to teach and work with K-12 students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in the area you wish to teach (e.g., math, science, English, social studies, etc.).
• Fingerprint clearance and background check required.
