Elementary Math Tutor

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups of elementary school students (1‑4 students) on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Support students identified as struggling with fundamental math skills, grades K‑5.
• Conduct tutoring sessions several times per week at an elementary school in Dayton, OH 45403.
• Provide push‑in (in‑classroom) or pull‑out (outside classroom) services as needed.
• Take daily attendance and monitor student progress using a personal mobile device.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (any field); anticipated graduation dates not accepted.
• At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience in a school or educational setting.
• Mastery of elementary school math concepts and skills.
• Understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students, schools, and communities (racial, socio‑economic, cultural disparities).
• Genuine passion and commitment to fostering student success.
• Exemplary punctuality and adherence to schedules.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Ability to commute comfortably to the designated location.
• Ability to navigate a school environment, including hallways, classrooms, and stairways.

Pay

Salary range: $28.16 – $31.29 per hour.

Schedule

Position runs from October 27, 2026 through March 31, 2027. Daily schedule: 9:00 AM EST to 4:00 PM EST, Tuesdays and Thursdays (tutoring sessions).
