Elementary Faculty, Fall 2027

About the role

Oaks Christian School seeks a full‑time elementary faculty member (10‑month exempt position) to teach and model a distinctly Christian worldview while delivering excellent instruction, fostering independent and confident learners, and contributing to the school community.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a spiritual role model with a dynamic, growing faith and uphold the school’s statement of faith.
• Maintain a disciplined learning environment built on respect, grace, and passion for the subject.
• Be available to students and parents before and after school.
• Create and follow a challenging academic environment, including course outlines, daily lesson plans, and curriculum enrichment.
• Use relevant, cutting‑edge technology to develop real‑world learning experiences.
• Pursue professional growth through instructional best practices, discipline‑specific expertise, and professional reading.
• Update grades in AXIS (Blackbaud LMS) within one cycle, post homework in real time, and post tests with at least one week’s notice.
• Post all assessments on the exam calendar at least two weeks in advance.
• Prepare grade reports, progress reports, and attendance reports per school policy.
• Execute duties punctually, attend meetings, meet deadlines, and maintain a collegial, team‑player attitude.
• Communicate with parents within 24 hours and maintain cordial relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Attend assigned meetings and committees, participate in OCS community events, admissions, extracurriculars, chapel advisory groups, and overnight trips as applicable.
• Complete extra duty assignments such as supervision, mentoring, office hours, and academic help.
• Abide by the OCS Faculty Handbook policies and spirit.

Requirements

• A four‑year education degree is required.
• Master’s degree in education is preferred.
• Teaching credential is preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000–$90,000.

Schedule

Full‑time, 10‑month exempt position.
