Qualifications

• Certified or eligible for certification from the Georgia PSC
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
• Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Responsibilities

• Interact in a professional manner and abide by the Educator's Code of Ethics
• Communicate with parents/guardians and students about achievement, expectations, behavior, and upcoming events
• Maintain confidentiality of students and students' records
• Work cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents
• Comply with school, system, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies
• Conduct assigned classes at the times scheduled using the adopted standards as the instructional basis for lessons
• Appropriately enforce rules related to student conduct and discipline
• Provide adequate information, plans and materials for substitute teachers
• Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other school related events or activities
• Model correct use of language, oral and written
• Demonstrate accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content
• Maintain certification
• Maintain lesson plans as required by school policy
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students
• Take precautions to protect records, equipment, materials and facilities
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the principal or designee
• Demonstrate prompt and in person attendance
