Elementary Classroom Teacher (Grades K–6)

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily classroom organization, routines, and schedules
• Support classroom behavior management through the implementation of the school’s 4:1 ratio of positive reinforcement
• Effectively implement designated curricula, including Direct Instruction and Core Knowledge programs
• Document lesson implementation and student progress daily and submit reports weekly to the Professional Development Coordinator (PDC)
• Provide weekly feedback regarding the effectiveness and outcomes of Core Knowledge lessons
• Participate in all required professional development and training sessions
• Attend and actively contribute to grade-level meetings, Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings, and staff meetings
• Participate in IEP meetings and support accommodations and modifications as required by IEPs and 504 plans
• Complete progress reports, report cards, and grading responsibilities as assigned
• Attend and conduct parent-teacher conferences during the fall and spring semesters
• Participate in school-wide events, including Back to School Night, Open Houses, holiday performances, and the High School Senior Luncheon
• Fulfill assigned morning, lunch/recess, and afternoon duties
• Support and uphold all school policies, procedures, and expectations
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or administration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound instructional decisions
• Strong collaboration, instructional, leadership, and classroom support skills
• Ability to perform duties in accordance with school policies, state regulations, and federal laws
• Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment
