Elementary Classroom Teacher

MISTAFF is a collaborative effort of the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators, Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators, Michigan Association of School Boards, Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, and Michigan School Public Relations Association.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a K-12 teacher in an alternative certification program. This role is ideal for professionals transitioning into education who are committed to making a difference in students' lives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with other educators, administrators, and staff to support student success.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
• Adhere to state and district educational standards and policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Commitment to pursuing alternative certification in education (e.g., Michigan's Alternative Route to Certification).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and student success.

Qualifications

• Experience working with K-12 students in an educational or related setting is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with classroom management strategies and differentiated instruction.
• Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning.
