Position Overview
The Elementary School Teacher is responsible for creating a joyful, engaging, and academically rigorous classroom environment rooted in Catholic identity and Gospel values. The successful candidate will foster a love of learning while supporting the unique gifts and needs of every child.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned and differentiated instruction in a safe, welcoming, and orderly classroom.
- Promote respect, responsibility, and positive behavior.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, experiences, tools, and activities to inspire student engagement.
- Audit student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, support staff, and families.
- Participate in curriculum planning, professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school initiatives.
- Organize projects, field experiences, and experiential learning opportunities.
- Contribute positively to the school community.
Qualifications
- Practicing Catholics in good standing are encouraged to apply, particularly for positions teaching religion.
- Non-Catholic candidates must be willing to support and respect the mission, teachings, and values of Catholic education.
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field preferred.
- Taught experience preferred.
- If not certified, candidates must be willing to work to obtain one during their first 3 years.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the school community.
- Organizational skills, flexibility, creativity, and a growth mindset.
- Pennsylvania clearances as required by law.
