Elementary Behavior Teacher

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care, behavioral intervention, and attention to students with behavior issues
• Perform assessments and create individual treatment plans and educational programs tailored to each student’s needs
• Carry out treatment plans and evaluate student progress
• Complete progress notes and maintain case files
• Consult with external providers such as physicians or social services agencies

Requirements

• Patience, dedication, and compassion
• Desire to help people with disabilities
• Enjoy interacting with children and preferably have prior experience caring for or educating children with special needs
• Able to stand or sit for long periods of time and walk and move around without difficulty

Qualifications

• Special Education Certified/EH/ADA preferred
• Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in behavior analysis, psychology, or a mental-health related field (e.g., social work or human services)
