About the role

The Sidney Central School District seeks an experienced K-12 Music Teacher with a specialization in instrumental music. The ideal candidate will hold or be eligible for NYS Music certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach instrumental music to students in grades K-12
• Develop and implement curriculum aligned with state standards
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and student learning outcomes
• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Participate in professional development opportunities

Requirements

• NYS Music certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
• Experience teaching instrumental music at the K-12 level
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff

Qualifications

• Passing scores on relevant standardized tests
• Background check clear for working with children

Skills

• Effective classroom management skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
• Knowledge of current educational technology and its integration into the classroom

Pay

The starting salary range is $51,978 to $63,681, depending on experience. The salary does not include hourly stipends for teacher induction and additional hours worked.
