THE MUST HAVES
High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework or postsecondary experience preferred
Strong interest in education and a desire to grow instructional skills over time
Ability to learn and effectively use instructional technology, digital tools, and student data systems
Willingness to support instruction using a variety of learning platforms and classroom technologies
Openness to receiving and implementing frequent, actionable feedback as part of a coaching and growth-oriented culture
Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and emotional composure in fast-paced or high-pressure classroom environments

THE ROLE
SUPPORTING THE DELIVERY OF RIGOROUS, STANDARDS-ALIGNED INSTRUCTION BY LEADING SMALL GROUPS, REINFORCING CORE LESSONS, AND PROVIDING TARGETED ACADEMIC SUPPORT SO ALL SCHOLARS EXPERIENCE JOYFUL, GRADE-LEVEL LEARNING.
DEVELOPING INSTRUCTIONAL EXPERTISE BY LEARNING CURRICULUM, STANDARDS, AND EFFECTIVE TEACHING PRACTICES, AND GRADUALLY ASSUMING INCREASED RESPONSIBILITY FOR PLANNING AND DELIVERING INSTRUCTION UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF THE LEAD TEACHER.
HELPING SET AMBITIOUS ACADEMIC GOALS WITH SCHOLARS, MONITORING PROGRESS, AND PROVIDING FREQUENT, ACTIONABLE FEEDBACK THAT MOTIVATES EFFORT AND SUPPORTS GROWTH.

Pay
Compensation: This position is a salaried position; salary offers commensurate with experience. The starting salary for a first-year teacher in Jackson, MS is $47,895 and Nashville, TN is $53,610.

Retirement Plans: Employees may participate in TCRS retirement plan in Nashville, TN, or the Principal retirement plan in Jackson, MS.
Paid Time Off: Employees receive 10 days of Paid Time Off, in addition to network closures. This includes 8 personal leave days and 2 mental health days.
Paid Leave Programming: In the event an employee needs to take maternity or paternity leave, RePublic Schools provides paid medical leave based on length of service. Employees who have been employed for less than one year are eligible for up to 4 weeks of leave at 100% pay. Employees with more than one year of service are eligible for up to 9 weeks of leave at 100% pay, followed by an additional 3 weeks at 40% pay.
Comprehensive Benefits Program: RePublic Schools provides $10,000 in employer-paid life insurance at 100% coverage. Additionally, the organization offers term life and disability insurance, as well as Carrot Fertility benefits, with 100% of the premiums covered by RePublic Schools.
