Elementary Art Teacher

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, creative, and student-centered Elementary Art Teacher to inspire young learners through visual arts education. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, self-expression, and an appreciation for the arts while creating an engaging classroom environment that supports academic excellence and positive character development. This role provides standards-based instruction for students in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade, encouraging artistic exploration through a variety of media and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging visual arts lessons aligned with Florida State Standards.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that encourages creativity and student participation.
• Teach a variety of artistic techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, and crafts.
• Foster students' creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation for the visual arts.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of grades and student work.
• Prepare student artwork for classroom displays, school exhibitions, and special events.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Maintain inventory and organization of art supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and parent conferences.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized art classroom.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Florida Teaching Certificate (Art K–12) preferred or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Previous Elementary Teaching Experience Preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young learners.
• Knowledge of instructional technology and digital art tools is a plus.
