Temporary 3rd Grade Elementary School Teacher position for the 2026-2027 school year at Harloe Elementary School.
Requirements
- Valid California Multiple Subject teaching credential with an authorization to teach in grades K-6 in a self-contained setting.
- CLAD/BCLAD/EL Authorization (Emergency permits are not accepted).
- A Bachelor's Degree, including all courses and/or exams needed to meet credentialing and subject matter competency.
Pay
Annual entry level salary placement from $63,607 to $107,276 for a full-time position. Salary is prorated based on start date, FTE, prior experience, and semester units above a Bachelor's degree. 2026-2027 Certificated Salary Schedule.

Responsibilities
- Instructional:
- Teaches multiple subjects, including curriculum design, and incorporates critical learning procedures.
- Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter as specified in state laws, regulations, and District policies.
- Develops clear and appropriate lesson plans and identifies instructional materials.
- Selects, designs, and organizes objectives, strategies, and materials for teaching multiple subjects, incorporating research findings in the instructional program.
- Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Determines the appropriate pace for instruction related to students' abilities and explains material and subject content to students and parents.
- Differentiates instruction for students based upon need and works with students and other teachers in inclusive settings.
- Establishes and maintains standards of behavior in the classroom and throughout the school to achieve a positive and functional learning atmosphere.
- Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, prepares student progress reports, and provides accurate and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Uses data to improve the learning and instruction process.
- Creates and maintains an environment that fosters student creativity, critical thinking skills, academic achievement, and the development of lifelong skills.
- Demonstrates competence and confidence in working with new technology and various application packages.
- Student Management:
- Maximizes opportunities for student success by creating positive mentoring and working relationships with students and colleagues.
- Creates a classroom environment reflective of 21st-century skills and various student individual needs.
- Serves as a role model for students regarding lifelong learning and professional behavior.
- Establishes and implements a classroom discipline policy to maintain an effective learning environment.
- Provides students with additional instruction as needed for academic skill development.
- Professional:
- Maintains positive staff relations and collaborates with the site principal through shared decision-making processes.
- Cooperates with other professional staff members to identify student needs and develop assessments to solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Participates in faculty committees, meetings, and other faculty-sponsored programs supporting the educational program.
- Demonstrates regular and timely attendance.
- Engages in networking, collegiality, mutual support, and deep individual and collective reflection.
- Promotes a positive image of public education and engages with community and business partners for curriculum development and student projects.
- Attends and participates in required in-service activities.
- Meets deadlines, maintains appropriate records, and prepares progress reports as required.

Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree, including all courses and/or exams needed to meet credentialing and subject matter competency.
- Experience: As mandated by the state and accepted by the school district.
- Personal Qualities: Resourceful, innovative, helpful, diligent, persistent, and willing to work with colleagues and students.
- Preferred Additional:
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Prior teaching experience.

- Maintain the privacy of confidential information including student grades and progress.
This position is designated as a Mandated Reporter and requires reporting suspected child or elder/dependent abuse or neglect to appropriate agencies in accordance with California state regulations.
Candidates selected for this position must present prior to the first date of employment:
- A social security card.
- Proof of tuberculin risk assessment.
- Pass State and Federal fingerprint clearances.
- Complete all pre-employment training including but not limited to Child Abuse Reporting and Sexual Harassment/Abusive Conduct.
