Element San Jose Airport - Director Front Office

About the role

Lead and energize the entire Front Office team to create memorable guest experiences and keep the hotel running smoothly. With a focus on both stellar service and smart finances, you'll support guest loyalty efforts and contribute to room operations and reporting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct all Front Office operations, including guest check-in/check-out, room inventory management, brand standards compliance, and profitability through budgeting and policy enforcement.
• Coach, motivate, and develop the Front Office team through supervision, counseling, evaluations, and recognition; recruit, interview, and train new team members.
• Monitor guest service trends, address issues proactively, and resolve concerns to ensure high guest satisfaction.
• Develop and implement creative marketing and up-selling strategies to maximize room revenue and keep the team informed about hotel promotions and events.
• Maintain emergency readiness with relevant certifications, lead daily reporting and decision-making, participate in Manager on Duty shifts, and handle additional projects as needed.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of progressive experience in front desk leadership; or a 4-year college degree and 4–5 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 5–6 years of related experience.
• Preferred qualifications: specific brand experience/OnQ (PMS) certification, experience with 500+ room properties, and/or previous director-level experience.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage complex issues.
• Proficient with Windows Operating Systems and capable of analyzing financial and data information.
