This position is anticipated to begin August 31, 2026 and end June 22, 2027. It is a full-time, temporary role (1.0 FTE) located at the District Office.

About the Role

The Instructional Coach serves as a teacher leader and specialist in Pre-K/Kindergarten literacy and family engagement, facilitating professional development aligned with the school and district's instruction and curriculum goals. The coach works with, supports, and mentors other teachers and staff to identify, develop, and implement curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategies to improve student learning. This role may involve working in various elementary educational settings, including individual or team teaching environments.

Instructional coaches share responsibility for student safety, collaboration, and attention to each student's readiness to learn, including guidance, discipline, and welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a teacher leader and specialist in Pre-K/Kindergarten literacy and family engagement.
  • Facilitate professional development for staff based on instructional and curriculum goals.
  • Coach and support teachers and support staff in developing and implementing curriculum, assessments, and instructional strategies.
  • Work in various elementary educational settings to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure student safety, discipline, and welfare.

Requirements

  • Must hold or be able to obtain an Oregon Educator License with endorsement(s) in the specific content area(s).
  • Elementary Multiple Subjects credential required.

Pay

Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 for a 193-day contract (1.0 FTE). Initial placement based on education and experience. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date.

  • Eligible for a $2,500 stipend if certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS).
  • Eligible for a $3,000 stipend if you hold a PhD or EdD.

Retirement: The district participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP). The district contributes the employer portion, and employees contribute 6% via payroll deduction upon eligibility (working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position). Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
