About the role
The Field Engineering team is seeking Electronics Test & Integration Field Technician(s) to provide field service support. This role involves analyzing equipment failures, serving as a subject matter expert, evaluating and delivering training, inspecting, testing, and aligning systems, utilizing diagnostic equipment, and performing routine maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze equipment failures to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
- Evaluate, assess, and deliver training to force protection personnel on all system configurations.
- Inspect, test, and align designated systems to ensure compliance with required specifications.
- Utilize schematics, drawings, specifications, and GPETE to diagnose and repair system and equipment faults.
- Deliver up-to-date training on system operation, maintenance, alignment, and repair.
- Support the acquisition of OEM technical data through appropriate channels.
- Develop and support installation, maintenance, repair, and operation procedures for communications and electro-optical equipment.
- Evaluate and document field operational capability, reporting results to customers and program leadership.
- Perform routine system maintenance and computer system administrative functions, including analysis of system operations.
- Perform other technical duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5+ years prior relevant experience, or an Associate’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7+ years’ experience.
- Proficient with standard electronic assembly and testing tools.
- Experience testing and validating electromechanical systems using diagnostic equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters, or similar systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, repair, and testing skills across a wide range of electronic components and systems.
- Experience detecting, isolating, and correcting faults in computer systems and peripheral devices.
- Hands-on experience with systems integration, software, and electromechanical systems.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance or INTERIM Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Prior field experience or military service with land-based weapon systems.
- Skilled in maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting combat control and weapon systems.
- Experience testing and adjusting weapon firing, guidance, and launch systems.
- Proficient in maintaining gyroscopes, sights, and electro-optical fire control components.
- Ability to inspect, test, calibrate, and repair advanced microcomputers, radar systems, and data display units.
- Working knowledge of electro-optical sensor hardware/software and military/commercial electronics maintenance practices.
- Ability to install, diagnose, and repair servomotors and closed-loop feedback systems for fire control, sensors, antenna gimbals, and remote weapon systems.
- Familiarity with military protocols, operating systems, and database administration.
- Advanced CIWS military training.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and execution abilities.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Special Work Conditions
- Extensive travel will be required; up to 100% to include other international destinations.
- Some locations will be in the middle east desert with temperatures above 120 degrees F.
- Willing and able to deploy to remote international locations with little notification.
- Willing and able to deploy to environments that may include harsh living conditions (extreme heat and cold, deployed living conditions and / or hostile work environment).
- Willing and able to move and / or transport weights such as test equipment, ladders, instruments, and cable reels weighing up to 60 pounds using proper lifting techniques or material moving equipment.
- Willing and able to work 12-16 hours a day and be on call 24/7.
- Willing and able to traverse platforms.
- Willing and able to work in a bivouac environment.
- Willing and able to travel over rough, uneven terrain.
