About the role
As an Electronics Technician (Troubleshoot and Repair) at Heraeus Electro-Nite, you will disassemble and reassemble a wide variety of small, simple to moderately-complex pre-electronic instruments and components used to determine properties of molten metal. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting units to determine problems, making repairs to components and circuit boards, uploading or installing pre-established standardized software, performing minor set-up tasks, testing and validating repaired instruments and components, and calibrating instruments as required.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble malfunctioning or damaged electronic instruments or components.
- Troubleshoot units to determine problems using standard and common-sense problem-solving techniques.
- Repair identified issues and reassemble instruments/components.
- Upload or install pre-established standardized software and firmware.
- Complete minor set-up of software/firmware in BIOS according to standard instructions.
- Conduct simple software tests.
- Test and validate repaired instruments and components within quality parameters.
- Calibrate instruments as needed to standard instrument ranges.
- Operate in compliance with all applicable ISO:9001 and ISO:17025 standards and procedures.
Requirements
- A 2-year technical school degree in electronics or military equivalent, or 2 years of related experience assembling, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, validating, and calibrating small, simple to moderately-complex electronic instruments to the board level.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including some detail and variation.
- Experience operating industry-common and proprietary electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Good basic math skills.
- Experience with small hand tools.
- Proficiency in basic software applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows 7 and 10 environments.
- Experience working in an ISO:9001 and 17025 certified environment is a plus.
- Experience communicating with field service technicians and customers is a plus.
