U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking an Electronics Technician Sr. to work at our client site in Hampton, Virginia.
About the role
Qualified candidate will perform diagnosis, repair, fabrication, and maintenance of a variety of complex electronic, electromechanical, and traffic control equipment such as instrumentation, telemetry, computers, video, fiber optics, security equipment, traffic signals, and associated control equipment.
Responsibilities
- Technical support work installing, repairing, maintaining, programming, and modifying devices and equipment associated with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and other traffic control systems, including traffic signal controllers, fiber optics, wireless, twisted pair, and IP over Ethernet communication technologies and networks.
- Maintain and troubleshoot communication, video, and network transportation-related electronic devices and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance of all ITS devices as required, including but not limited to dynamic/changeable message signs, closed-circuit television cameras, pan-zoom-tilt devices, encoders, decoders, Ethernet switches, PLCs, and other related devices.
- Understand key concepts in Electronic Theory.
- Assist Traffic System Technicians and Traffic Signal Technicians as required.
- Read and work from plans, schematics, and displays.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Troubleshoot and locate defective devices and make repairs.
- Use electronic test equipment, fiber optics test equipment, hand and power tools.
- Operate a personal computer.
- Climb communication towers to repair cameras and communication equipment.
- Operate a variety of motor vehicles and trucks, including platform or bucket trucks.
- Respond to emergency call-backs during scheduled off-hours.
- Perform any other duties assigned by a supervisor and/or USF Senior Project Manager.
This position is designated as essential, requiring duties during emergency situations such as inclement weather, disaster response, and emergency operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong understanding of electronic theory.
- Proficient skills in using Microsoft Office software products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
- Required VDOT/Industry Training.
- Ability to stand or sit for significant periods.
- May be subject to short or no-notice work assignments.
- 90-day probation period with monitored performance and routine evaluation.

$25.00 - $35.00/hour
