Job Summary

Electronics Technician III at Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch (AVTB) Headquarters and Technical Support Services (HQTSS) at Camp Pendleton, CA. Supports T&E of amphibious vehicles, ground combat vehicles, systems, and equipment for MCSC and PEO LS.

Responsibilities

• Support test planning by coordinating lab resources, gathering information, furnishing technical advice, and solving issues.
• Provide specialized technical expertise to support electronics troubleshooting, maintenance, and system integration support to ensure 100% mission readiness.
• As required, provide lab-related information, including instrumentation specifications, measurement capabilities, and data collection methods.
• Assemble and maintain instrumentation according to DTPs, prepare, align, and calibrate instrumentation, and install instrumentation onto test platforms.
• Observe instrumentation operation, conduct real-time verbal reports, and notify the test team of malfunctions.
• Prepare and process instrumentation data, convert raw data into level 2 data, and provide technical information for reports.
• Support lab inventory reviews by completing checklists, locate items, verify serial numbers, and return items to their appropriate locations.
• Test performance of electromechanical assemblies using test instruments and inspect parts for surface defects.
• Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware, verify dimensions, and align or assemble component parts.
• Prepare written documentation of test results and build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
• Inspect electrical project work for quality control and assist in resolving engineering problems.
• Collaborate with engineers or personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of full-time experience as an electronics technician in a scientific, industrial, or military setting.
• Demonstrated capability to read schematics and troubleshoot electronic circuits down to the component level.
• Minimum of three years of hands-on experience operating standard calibration and diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
• Demonstrated capability in both through-hole and surface-mount soldering.
• Physically capable of safely lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Physically capable of standing and walking for prolonged amounts of time, twisting, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, boats, and test vehicles.

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is required for this Public Trust clearance at this location.
