About the role

M.C. Dean is seeking an Electronics Technician 3 to join our team in Springfield, VA. This role involves participating in quality reviews, tracking project metrics, executing installation and maintenance activities, leading commissioning efforts, and providing look ahead for manpower and material procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in quality reviews of M.C. Dean design documentation
  • Tracks project metrics and participates in weekly resource allocation meetings
  • Verifies correct charges in timesheets on projects
  • Executes installation and maintenance activities within planned durations
  • Tracks and inventories tools, conducts tool inspections, and organizes material ordering and receiving
  • Conducts daily ORM meetings, ensures team compliance with safety requirements, and completes accident/incident reporting
  • Executes PITCO plan to ensure high-quality testing and installation
  • Installs system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, and panels
  • Terminates, tests, and configures electronic devices, network and IT equipment
  • Manages base switch configurations, participates in configuration of servers and workstations, and troubleshoots programmable components
  • Ensures compliance with established QC plans and checklists, conducting quality control inspections and documenting findings
  • Installs and maintains field devices, terminates and tests system components, and troubleshoots copper and fiber optic issues
  • Leads commissioning efforts, tracks commissioning activities, and assists in representing M.C. Dean in meetings with owners and design teams
  • Communicates consistently with MC Dean Project Teams, other trades, and customers
  • Led by example, provides constructive feedback, mentors crew members, and encourages strategic thinking and innovation
  • Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Provides look ahead for assignment of manpower, material procurement/staging and resource planning

Requirements

  • Citizen Type: Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Education: HS diploma or GED, Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours), or Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or Electrical Apprenticeship program
  • Required Progressive Experience: 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs
  • Additional Experience: 3 years experience focused in electronic security systems
  • Other: OSHA 30 certification

Qualifications

  • Clearance/Citizen Type: Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Education: HS diploma or GED, Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours), or Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or Electrical Apprenticeship program
  • Required Progressive Experience: 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs

  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools
