About the role
M.C. Dean is seeking an Electronics Technician 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will design, engineer, integrate, operate, and maintain electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audiovisual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electronic security systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance requirements.
- Conduct inspections, evaluations, and inventory.
- Lead teams on small to moderately complex service projects.
- Conduct and document daily toolbox talks.
- Install all head-end equipment at both the local and global level per design packages.
- Program head-end equipment for Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV systems.
- Troubleshoot and isolate both systems and/or hardware at local and global levels.
- Provide on-site software commissioning and testing.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship; ACTIVE TS/SCI w/ POLYGRAPH clearance is REQUIRED.
- HS diploma or GED.
- One of the following:
- Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours), or
- Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program, or
- Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program.
- An additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities.
- Valid driver’s license; may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle with an acceptable driving record.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
- 3 years of the above experience must be focused in electronic security systems.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills (a plus).
Desired Qualifications
- Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS).
- Experience with AIphone Intercom Systems, Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems, and installation of said systems.
Abilities
- Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
- Work at various heights up to 60 feet, including climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Good vision (may be corrected), color vision, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
- Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
- Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events).
- See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
