Electronics System Instructor
Primary Responsibilities
Senior Level Instructor or Trainer role will include providing classroom instruction to students through lecture, demonstration, and laboratory exercises, handouts, responding to questions, and testing. Courses will be taught in-person with day and potentially evening courses. Assist students in developing the fundamental skills required to serve as an entry-level fiber optic cable installer or technician. Instruct fundamental principles of fiber optic technology, including knowledge of different fiber types, splicing techniques, network design, safety protocols, and how to use specialized tools to connect and activate fiber optic networks. Teach electronic and fiber optic fundamental safety including but not limited PPE, handling cables, proper handling of various chemicals, cleaners, and adhesives, adhering to industry standards, and ensuring proper training to avoid injury and damage. Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelors degree and 12+ years of working knowledge of FAA electrical and electronics systems.
- Computer Applications: Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the Internet as a gathering and communicating tool.
- Communications: Must be able to effectively communicate in the written and verbal form. Must accomplish clear and concise general and technical writing and tactfully coordinate with a variety of project stakeholders, peers, and management levels.
- Must have a basic knowledge of multiple disciplines regarding their general requirements for typical FAA electrical and electronics systems.
