Electronics Specialist
About the role
The primary purpose of the position is to perform the day-to-day operation of the NCSU Phytotron through proper function of the electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems of the facility. The position will also conduct daily surveillance and needed repairs of environmental chamber operations, diagnose any source of malfunction, and manufacture, assemble, install, calibrate, repair, and maintain/modify environmental control and measurement systems within the Phytotron with little supervision.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily surveillance and needed repairs of environmental chamber operations.
- Diagnose any source of malfunction.
- Manufacture, assemble, install, calibrate, repair, and maintain/modify environmental control and measurement systems within the Phytotron with little supervision.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Respond to emergency callback situations.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Basic computer skills - proficiency in MS Word and Excel or similar software packages.
- Ability to follow written instructions.
- Directly related experience.

$37,849 - $91,035
Schedule
Monday - Friday (7:30 am - 4:30 pm), on emergency call back every 4th weekend and some holidays
