Electronics Production Technician

About the Role

As an Electronics Production Technician, you will be responsible for the teardown, sorting, and consolidation of used computers, laptops, servers, and electronics for recycling and resale purposes. Meticulous attention to detail and technical expertise are essential to ensure safe and efficient recycling of electronic devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical teardown of electronic systems using various tools and methods.
• Sort components into segregated categories.
• Consolidate, package, label, and manage inventory of segregated materials.
• Operate an inventory management system through proper identification and labeling.
• Conduct quality verification on segregated and ready-to-ship materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate on continuous improvement projects related to operational efficiency, safety, and management systems.
• Track, record, and report work and goal progress.
• Interact professionally with customers and maintain knowledge of company products, services, and policies.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and operate general office equipment.
• Perform safety awareness training and handle equipment and vehicles safely.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of computer components and peripheral hardware.
• Proven experience in electronics disassembly, sorting, or recycling processes, preferably with computers, laptops, and servers.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in electronics disassembly and sorting.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices related to electronics recycling.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work meticulously.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely (regularly up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds).
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
• Basic computer, mathematical, and mechanical skills.
• Must pass a background check based on R2 standards for handling sensitive data.
• Must satisfactorily pass forklift driving training or demonstrate safe forklift handling.
• Experience safely using forklifts, lift trucks, and hand trucks is highly preferred.
