About the role
GHSP, a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry, is seeking an Electronics Process Technician to join their Manufacturing team in Grand Haven.
Responsibilities
- Affirms that processes are in control.
- Maintains process control through the use of specific tools related to process function such as Standardized Work sheets, visual aids, set up sheets, and change over instructions.
- Maintains specific machine controls through the use of thermal profiling, diagnostics tools, and equipment validation software.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
- Implements and performs preventative maintenance to ensure optimum performance and elimination of unnecessary downtime.
- Ensures the completeness of the system.
- Assists in the training of preventative maintenance programs for production associates.
- Conducts all preventative maintenance activities in assigned area, with assistance as needed.
- Identifies and eliminates sources of downtime.
- With guidance/oversight, applies root cause analysis to identify sources of downtime/extraneous variation.
- Eliminates downtime through implementation of corrective measures.
- Assists in problem solving efforts with various teams.
- Improves manufacturing processes after program launch.
- Improves manufacturing processes after program launch by making machine and process refinements to achieve process control, improve part quality, increase efficiencies, and minimize cost.
- Maintains documentation and visual aids.
- Works with Team Coordinators, Quality Facilitators, and Process Engineering to maintain documentation and visual aids such as standardized work, combination tables, PCR, and shark attacks relative to current practices.
- Maintains knowledge of new process technology.
- Maintains current knowledge of latest process and equipment technologies by attending trade shows, studying trade publications, benchmarking, etc.
- Repairs Electronics machinery and support tools.
- Maintains and/or performs repairs of manufacturing equipment with assistance as needed, including, but not limited to pick-and-place machines, screen printers, reflow ovens, drag solder machine, x-rays, coating machine, wave solder, select solder, router, and hand tools/fixtures.
- Quickly responds to all requests from production teams, team coordinators, and team leaders to inspect, diagnose, trouble-shoot, and repair equipment and machinery issues causing manufacturing issues and downtime.
- Problem solves and determines root causes to prevent issues from reoccurring and documents these activities.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Technical Discipline (electronics field) or equivalent required.
- Technical certification in the electronics field through equipment manufacturers preferred.
- 1-3+ years using lean manufacturing principles in the electronics industry preferred.
- 1-5 years related technical field or equivalent required.
