Michael Foods, Inc. is a leader in the food processing and distribution industry with business in egg products, refrigerated grocery, and potato products. Our Norwalk, Iowa location produces high-quality precooked egg patties and various French Toast products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Maintenance and Reliability services, focusing on electrical/instrumentation asset health improvement efforts.
  • Execute electrical/instrumentation PM, PDM, RCM, Precision CM, and Operator Care Programs.
  • Assist with electrical/instrumentation equipment installation, troubleshooting, adjustments, startups, and process improvement projects.
  • Comply with Safety work rules and reinforce Safety as a Core Value.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety & Quality policies, procedures, and activities to reduce product and process variability.
  • Participate in electrical/instrumentation maintenance tasks to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Learn and champion Precision Maintenance® techniques, ensuring procedural compliance and meeting job tolerances.
  • Participate in critical electrical/instrumentation equipment maintenance training for maintenance personnel.
  • Follow reliability procedures for critical electrical/instrumentation spares and parts.
  • Follow quality commissioning procedures for critical rebuilt or new electrical/instrumentation equipment.
  • Utilize MFI approved CMMS to manage, document, and support electrical/instrumentation reliability reporting and decision-making.
  • Provide input for root cause analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance to foster continuous asset reliability improvement.
  • Promote and foster Michael Foods culture, values, and principles.
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviors and ensuring a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, incorporating safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Follow Quality work practices, GMPs, and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality.
  • Report conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  • Ensure required regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree, two-year technical certificate, and/or a relevant combination of experience demonstrating electrical/instrumentation technical aptitude.
  • 2 years of experience as a maintenance electrician with an emphasis on industry or manufacturing.
  • Electrical license or electrical/instrumentation certification preferred.
  • E&I troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical schematics and blueprints, including equipment-specific electronics diagrams preferred.
  • Prior experience in SAP preferred.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent administrative and follow-up skills.

Schedule

Days (2-2-3 schedule).
