About the role

BTS is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide intelligence support, supporting the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Gilliam, GA and deployed OCONUS.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the collection and exploitation of recovered electronic devices.
  • Generate forensics reports and respond to analytical requirements.
  • Maintain assigned equipment, provide mission support, conduct training, and field electrical forensics applications, tools, and systems.
  • Collaborate with military organizations, such as EOD units, and contribute to advanced level 3 exploitation projects.
  • Contribute to cutting-edge training exercises supporting US and Partner forces.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Level: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 3 years of experience OR associate degree and 5 years of experience OR High School diploma and 6 years of experience
  • Senior Level: Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience in complex design, development, integration, and analysis of hardware projects.
  • Physical ability and commitment to global deployment for 6-month rotations.
  • Expertise in electronic schematic design and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in identifying electronic components and characterizing circuits.
  • Mastery of laboratory benchtop equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of RF communications and standard RF measurements.
  • Extensive experience in electronics engineering.
  • Experience using benchtop RF equipment including Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and other equipment.
  • Experience in synthesizing and generating various types of RF waveforms using an arbitrary waveform generator.
  • Previous experience working in OCONUS DoD forensic exploitation labs, to include FXL-C and ACME Labs desired.
  • Experience in reverse engineering electronic devices from start to finish desired.
  • Experience in reverse engineering electronic components and circuit boards desired.
  • Experience supporting exploitation and modeling and simulation tool development desired.
  • Working knowledge of software-defined radios (SDR), such as the Ettus B210 and x310. Able to interface with such units in order to transmit or receive RF signals desired.
  • Basic MATLAB (and other basic programming/scripting) skills, should be able to apply digital signal processing techniques to communication signals. Techniques include digital filtering, sample rate conversion, frequency/phase estimation, demodulation, carrier recovery, timing recovery, channel equalization, pulse shaping, and forward error correction desired.
  • Experience working with embedded systems such as Arduino and writing programs leveraging the SPI bus to configure and analyze various chipsets desired.
  • Previous OCONUS deployment experience desired.

Desired

  • ABET accredited BSE in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with IED and/or UXS techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTP)
  • Experience collaborating with military organizations, such as EOD units
  • Background in CELLEX, DOMEX, and MEDEX forensics
  • Hands-on experience with IED/UAS electronics
  • Understanding of programming languages

Pay Range

$150,000 to $220,000 -- Deployment/Uplift pay are in addition to base salary
