Electronics Engineering Technician
About the role
This full-time opportunity is located in New Hudson, MI. The role requires experience as an Electronics Engineering Technician, focusing on advanced simulation and testing systems, particularly in areas like e-mobility, ADAS, and autonomous driving.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assembly of custom Hardware in the Loop (HIL) simulators used for testing electronic control systems.
- Building and wiring systems using documentation such as Excel Signal list, Visio for mechanical layouts, or EPLAN.
- Building mechanical assemblies including installing chassis runners, cutting duct and DIN rails, mounting terminal blocks, relays, fuses, switches, power supplies, etc.
- Making discrete wiring of cabinets, using point-to-point lists and schematics.
- Crimping various types of pins including Hypertronics, AVX (EDAC), ferrules, Deutsch pins, open barrel pins, insulated and non-insulated terminals.
- Configuring PCB boards with switches and addresses.
- Making D-sub cables either by soldering or using ribbon cable.
- Assisting in continuity testing of completed systems.
Qualifications
- Desired knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Mechanical assembly and wiring of electronic test equipment.
- Light fabrication of brackets, plates, cut-outs, etc.
- HIL system or panel wiring.
- Experience with crimping terminals, such as Hypertronics, AVX (EDAC), ferrules, ring terminals, Deutsch pins, etc.
- Proficiency in soldering through-hole and surface-mount components.
- Reading and interpreting EPLAN documents.
