Job Responsibilities
THIS IS A SCDPPPS INTERNAL POSTING ONLY***2 POSITIONS A special assignment pay of $6875 will be applied to anyone selected. Applicant will be required to provide statewide coverage with the assigned Electronics Detection Canine.
Directs canine in attempts to detect unlawful electronic devices or storage media in violation of SCDPPPS Standard Sex Offender Conditions.
Aids other Federal, State, and Local Agencies with lawful searches.
Provides guidance and direction to Sex Offender Agents.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work.
- An associate's degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience may substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience may be substituted.
- Minimum of one year of SCDPPPS Agent experience preferred.
- Agent must have a strong desire to work with an assigned canine and a willingness to commit to the EDC position for a minimum of five years.
- Preferrably prior canine handling experience (K-9).
- Knowledge of modern law enforcement techniques and procedures.
- C-1 Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of SCDPPPS Agent experience preferred.
- Prior canine handling experience (K-9).
- Knowledge of modern law enforcement techniques and procedures.
- C-1 Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.
