About the role

An Ingenuity Design Engineer is responsible for the full product development life cycle. They are to take an innovative approach to develop concepts, undertake detailed product design, and then bring products to life through low and high-volume production runs. As a new member of the team you will get any technical training to help you develop your skills and guidance on commercial product development, with mentoring from senior designers.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting technology feasibility studies
  • System and circuit design from conceptual beginnings
  • Owning detailed electronic design, particularly in power electronics and high-voltage systems
  • Component selection and design optimisation, including switching devices such as FETs
  • Designing a wide range of electronic circuits (analog / digital / power / RF / low power)
  • Laying out PCBs using Altium
  • Performing schematic and PCB design reviews to ensure design quality
  • Bringing up, testing, debugging, and iterating hardware prototypes
  • Managing product compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Writing clear technical specifications and documentation
  • Documenting complete designs for manufacture (DFM/DFT considerations)
  • Product testing, validation, and verification
  • Customer engagement and technical support

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to permanently work in the United States
  • Hold a relevant degree from a reputable University (e.g. Bachelor of Electrical Engineering)
  • Have worked as a professional electronics design engineer for a minimum of 5 years
  • Have strong experience in power electronics design, including high-voltage systems
  • Be highly competent in the design of analog and digital electronics
  • Have proven experience taking electronic products from concept through to manufacture
  • Be proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Demonstrate strong hardware bring-up, testing, and debugging capability
  • Possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Be able to work independently and within a team

Qualifications

  • Deep experience in power electronics design, including converters, power management, and switching topologies
  • Strong component-level design expertise, particularly with FETs and high-power devices
  • Experience with embedded programming of 8 to 32-bit microcontrollers using C / C++
  • Experience with RF communications such as Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee, LoRa, or low-power ISM
  • Experience with wired communications such as CAN, USB, Ethernet, I2C, RS232, RS485

Skills

  • Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Strong hardware bring-up, testing, and debugging capability
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
