Electronics Assembler: Final Assembly
Position Summary
A final assembler is responsible for the assembly of our electronics with parts acquired through our various subassemblies to create a semi-finished product. These components include printed circuit boards, chassis assembly, capacitor assembly, transformers, metal binding posts, cable harnesses, and glass assemblies. Assembly is done with a combination of hand and power tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Electronics Assembly
- Following work instructions, and training from area team leaders and experienced builders to complete a product.
- Maintain proper tool condition to ensure ease of build and quality of work.
- Adhere to and maintain a pace conducive to schedule completion of units as determined by supply planning and production control.
- Provide feedback on accurate part counts, correctness, and issues that may be attributed to engineering design of the unit.
- Quality & Inspection
- Inspect subassemblies, including but not limited to chassis, glass panels, printed circuit boards to ensure correctness prior to build.
- Maintain inspection records and report any deviations, defects, or nonconformities.
- Perform visual inspection of cable insertion, cosmetics, and proper usage of hardware throughout the building process.
- Maintenance & Safety
- Daily inspection of tools and work area to ensure safety and proper working conditions associated with electronics assembly.
- Report on maintenance issues promptly minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum understanding of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of process flow and schedule adherence (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
- Manufacturing assembly experience (1 year preferred).
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, sharp metal edges, and moving machinery. Appropriate PPE (as outlined in our safety manual) must be always worn.
Pay & Benefits
The hiring range for this position in the primary work location of Binghamton, New York is: $16.00-$19.92 per hour.
The hiring range for other Bose work locations may vary.
