Responsibilities
- Operate, install, adjust, and maintain integrated computer/communications systems, consoles, simulators, and data acquisition/test/measurement equipment used to launch, track, position, and evaluate air and space vehicles; record, interpret, and report test data as required.
- Serve as an expert in a specialized engineering area (e.g., environmental factors affecting electronic engineering), handling complex assignments that require creativity and judgment to develop approaches, resolve design and operational issues, and make decisions when standard engineering methods do not apply.
- Receive guidance from a supervisor or professional engineer on unusual or controversial problems or policy matters and have completed work reviewed for compliance with overall project objectives.
- May train and/or be assisted by lower-level technicians, and perform one or a combination of the following: Prepares designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems. Plans approach to solve design problems; conceives and recommends new design techniques; resolves design problems with contract personnel and assures compatibility of design with other parts of the system.
- Designs and coordinates test setups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design; uses untried and untested measurement techniques; and improves the performance of the equipment.
- May advise and report to equipment users on redesign to solve unique operational deficiencies. Plans approach and conduct various experiments to develop equipment or systems characterized by (a) difficult performance requirements because of conflicting attributes such as versatility, size, and ease of operation; or (b) unusual combination of techniques or components. Arranges for fabrication of pilot models and determines test procedures and design of special test equipment.
- Work directly with clients to develop test plans, lead the execution of test events and deliver final result briefings and reports. Test event types may include, but are not limited to, developmental and operational tests, security/vulnerability assessments.
- Apply computer and system knowledge (Windows/Linux administration, network configuration/analysis, scripting, and limited database/code review) to support test execution and troubleshooting.
- Develop test methodologies, scenarios, and data collection plans independently or as part of a team; collaborate with clients to identify test requirements and support T&E master plan development.
- Attend T&E and EW-related conferences, participate in technical working groups, observe external cyber exercises/tests/demonstrations, and report findings and issues.
- Support technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and assessments of system supportability and effectiveness.
- Analyze user requirements, procedures, and system workflows to recommend automation, improvements, or system capability enhancements.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of DoW Acquisition process
- Knowledge and experience in DoW Systems Engineering process
- Knowledge and experience in Naval Aviation Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
- Knowledge and understanding of DOT&E policies, instructions, and guidance
- Experience in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT)
- 3 years of NAVAIR, NAWCAD experience
- Ability to independently plan and complete projects or studies of broad scope

Pay
The projected compensation range is $125,000 - $185,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL’s complete compensation package. Final salary for this position is determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
Schedule
This position requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.
