About the role

The Electronic Technician I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the diagnosis, repair, inspection, and basic maintenance of electronic Point-of-Sale (POS) products, peripherals, and related hardware. This role performs hands-on electronic and electro-mechanical work under close supervision, following established procedures, technical documentation, and safety guidelines. This position is ideal for candidates early in their electronics career who are developing foundational diagnostic, repair, and troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or depot repair environment.

  • Associate degree or coursework in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 0–1 years of related electronics, repair, manufacturing, or technical support experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic diagnostics, inspection, and repair of electronic POS products, peripherals, and components under supervision
  • Disassemble, reassemble, and test electronic units using established work instructions and documentation
  • Assist with identifying common electronic or mechanical failures and escalate complex issues as needed
  • Use standard test equipment and diagnostic tools to verify product functionality
  • Perform basic soldering and component replacement as trained
  • Accurately document work performed, parts used, and test results in tracking systems
  • Follow all safety, ESD, quality, and compliance standards during repair activities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
  • Support inventory control by properly handling parts, tools, and materials
  • Participate in training and skill development to progress technical competencies
  • Learn troubleshooting techniques for circuit boards and electronic assemblies
  • Shadow or assist higher-level technicians on more complex repairs
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the repair process
  • Build familiarity with product lines, repair standards, and quality expectations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and fine-motor tasks
  • Visual acuity sufficient for inspecting small components and solder work

Pay

Compensation Range: $20.00 - $21.63 per hour
