Electronic Technician
Job Description
Employee will maintain and troubleshoot electronic equipment, systems, tools, and computers used in oilfield operations. Responsible for performing repairs, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibrations of electrical equipment both in the shop and field locations supporting both the wireline and pumpdown divisions of the organization. The technician will be the main point of contact for all electrical/electro-mechanical equipment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on loggers, pumps, auxiliary equipment and tools
- Perform repairs on equipment both in the field and at the shop
- Troubleshoot systems, electrical equipment, and components as they arise, recommending solutions or performing repairs as needed
- Travel to location to perform repairs on electronics and equipment as needed
- Install or repair systems to ensure proper functionality
- Test equipment to ensure it meets all company standards
- Perform calibrations when needed
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies
- Follow all company best practices
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
- Assist field service managers with troubleshooting
- Assist other electronic technicians as needed
Required Skills And Abilities
- Effective troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Working knowledge of Warrior, SIEMENS, SCADA, AMI, Dragon, and able to troubleshoot systems
- Working knowledge of different power generation systems
- Able to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain 12 Volt and 24 Volt DC systems
- Able to interpret schematics
- Perform component troubleshooting
- Travel to the field during on call scheduling
- Vast knowledge of Windows-based systems
- Have good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to be on call as scheduled and work nights and weekends as required
- Make real-time management decisions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of oilfield electronics technician experience
- 4-year degree preferred, will consider 2-year degree
- Will consider military equivalent training
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Obtain ATF clearance
- Must pass a criminal background check and alcohol screening
- Valid driver’s license
