About the role

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician 3 to join the Test and Evaluation, Lab Test team in Melbourne, FL. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks in an electronic and lab assembly area, working individually or with a team in a fast-paced R&D fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the lab space, including 5’s and tool control.
  • Assemble and build cable harness and rack assemblies.
  • Support development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic systems.
  • Conduct routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental engineering tasks.
  • Perform operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications.
  • Diagnose and isolate malfunctions down to the component level.
  • Conduct engineering tests and collect data.
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Active US Government Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable timeframe as determined by business needs.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, various shifts (including evenings, weekends, holidays, and off-shifts).
  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs and work with hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings or models.
  • Experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and/or fabrication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with CPLM and NX.
  • Knowledge of schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation.

Pay

Primary salary range: $57,500.00 – $95,900.00. Base salary offers consider factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime pay, shift differentials, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
