Electronic Security Technician
Job Description
Parsons is seeking a skilled Electronic Security Systems Technician to join our European Team, responsible for the installation, integration, and maintenance of a variety of security systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in physical and electronic security, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, networking infrastructure, and electrical systems. This role involves working on projects at various overseas government facilities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Install, configure, and integrate security systems, including alarm panels, IP cameras, CCTV, access control, mass notification, and intrusion detection systems.
- Run, terminate, and test Cat6 and fiber optic cabling for data networks, ensuring proper connectivity and compliance with industry standards.
- Utilize fiber optic splicers and test equipment for network infrastructure installation and maintenance.
- Install and maintain access control systems, including electronic door controls and pedestrian/vehicular barriers.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair security systems, network infrastructure, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to ensure proper installation and system integration.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to execute security system designs.
- Ensure compliance with security regulations, building codes, and client-specific requirements.
Required Skills
- CompTIA Security+
- Identiv Hirsch Velocity (IDS and ACS) -- Certification
- Bosch CCTV -- Training/Experience for camera installation | Certification for VMS preferred
- X Series Combination Locks -- Certification
Desired Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in the installation and maintenance of physical security systems, including CCTV, alarm panels, IP cameras, and mass notification systems.
- Hands-on experience with access control systems, including door controls and vehicle barriers.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including the installation and termination of Cat6 cabling and fiber optics.
- Experience with fiber optic splicing and using test equipment.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, technical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Competent in using hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
Pay
Salary Range: $22.93 - $40.14
