Responsibilities

  • Design analog, digital, embedded, and RF circuitry for telemetry products and subsystems
  • Develop compact, low-power electronic designs for demanding measurement applications
  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware for Microchip PIC and other microcontrollers, including modification of existing assembly-language code
  • Design signal-conditioning circuitry, active and passive filters, and sensor interfaces
  • Perform component selection, schematic capture, prototyping, testing, and design verification
  • Troubleshoot prototype and production hardware using standard electronic test equipment
  • Develop and maintain schematics, bills of material, design documentation, test procedures, and engineering changes
  • Work closely with technicians, production personnel, PCB suppliers, and contract manufacturers
  • Support multiple concurrent development and production projects
  • Assist with technical investigation and resolution of customer and production issues

  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Experience developing embedded microcontroller-based systems
  • Hands-on experience assembling, testing, debugging, or reworking SMT circuit boards
  • Ability to independently move a design from initial requirements through prototype and production release
  • Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on, small-business environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microchip PIC microcontrollers and assembly-language programming
  • RF or wireless system design experience
  • FPGA or CPLD design experience
