Electronic Data Interchange Specialist

Full job description

The EDI Specialist is responsible for ensuring client success by managing electronic billing data and setup. Excellent teamwork and a client-focused approach are a must.

• Monitor interface and claims activity. Contact appropriate parties within 24 hours if a disruption in service occurs.
• Ensure correct setup of insurance plans in the billing system and claims clearinghouse.
• Ensure correct setup of referring and rendering providers in the billing system.
• Research and resolve claim errors and rejections resulting from incomplete or incorrect information received.
• Ensure timely and accurate responses to client and cross-team inquiries.

Experience and Qualifications

• Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Teams, Word, and Excel
• Superior communication, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
• Minimum 1 year experience in medical billing - claims and/or insurance setup
• Prior EDI Experience (preferred)
