About the role
Gavial Engineering & Manufacturing specializes in manufacturing high-quality, high-reliability parts and systems for mission-critical equipment in demanding industries. This Electronics Assembler position involves assembling electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems using soldering and related techniques.
Responsibilities
- Read work orders, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties.
- Position and align parts in specified relationship using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.
- Perform joining operations such as crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, press fitting, or similar to secure parts.
- Mount assembled components (e.g., transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, sockets) on chassis panels or printed wiring boards.
- Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or route and connect wires between components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
- Manufacture cables and wiring harnesses using copper wire, co-axial cable, twin-axial cable, and fiber-optic cable.
- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
- Attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
- Perform intermediate assembly tasks including potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies.
- Conduct online inspections to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Soldering experience required (work assembly or hobby-related).
- J-STD-001 soldering certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations to conform to U.S. Government export regulations.
